About MC SAM e.V.

MC SAM e.V. im DMV (Motorsportclub Sachsen-Anhalt-Magdeburg e.V.) is a karting and grassroots motorsport club for children, young people and families, described on the site as a tradition since 1954. It currently has more than 50 members of various age groups, along with volunteer supervisors and helping parents. The club owns eight go-karts: two 2014 "MS Kart" Hobby Slalom competition karts (6.5 PS Honda engine, 200 cc), two identical 2013 training karts, a 1998 Snow/Funkart with spiked tyres for driving on snow, a 2014 "Papakart" (4-stroke DM engine, 13 PS, 390 cc) and two 2015 "MS KART" Superkartslalom karts (9 PS Honda engine, 270 cc, weight-balancing system). The minimum age to drive is 6; for the Superkarts, drivers must be at least 12 and be able to show experience on the 6.5 PS karts, with a maximum participant age of 23.

Training takes place in summer once a week, every Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00, on the bus car park of the Magdeburg exhibition centre. The club competes in the Saxony-Anhalt state championship, the German championship and the North/East regional rounds in youth kart slalom, superkart and automobile slalom. Regular maintenance of the karts is part of the activity: children and young people learn the basics of vehicle technology, including fitting tyres, changing engine and gearbox oil, bleeding brakes, replacing cables and finding optimal chassis settings. Published prices are an annual membership fee of €95 for a member (aged 7-99), €185 per year for a family membership (father, mother and all children) and a one-off €25 for three trial training sessions (Probetraining/Schnupperkurs). Trial training is arranged through the online form, by email or by telephone, with an appointment agreed together.
